The Drop

1. Sponsor

The Drop is sponsored and operated by The Drop ("Sponsor"), reachable at hello@thedrop.today. Apple Inc. is not a sponsor of, and is not involved in, this promotion in any way.

2. Eligibility

The Drop is open to legal residents of the fifty United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees, contractors, and immediate family or household members of Sponsor are not eligible to win prizes. Sponsor may require proof of age, identity, and residency before issuing any prize, and may withhold prizes until it is satisfied that the winner is eligible. Where a state's law makes any part of this promotion unlawful, the promotion is void in that state.

3. Promotion period

The Drop runs continuously in daily rounds. Each round (a "Drop") begins when its video is published, normally at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time, and ends when its final drop point is settled. Sponsor may pause or end the promotion at any time with notice in the app. Spin Coins earned before that notice remain redeemable for 90 days after it.

4. How to play

4.1 Download The Drop from the App Store and create an account with your email address or Apple ID. Account creation is free. During setup you will confirm your name, choose a username, and confirm your birthday and state of residence.

4.2 Each day, every account receives the same number of Drop Coins at no charge (the "Daily Stake"), currently 25. Drop Coins have no cash value, cannot be purchased, and cannot be transferred or sold. Unused Drop Coins carry over.

4.3 Each Drop contains between one and five moments where the video freezes and asks what happens next, with two or three possible answers ("Drop Points"). Before a Drop Point locks you may stake between 5 and 100 Drop Coins on one answer. Every Drop Point shows when it locks. You may change your answer until then.

4.4 The correct answer for every Drop Point is decided by Sponsor and cryptographically committed before the Drop is published, using a SHA-256 hash of the answer and a secret value. The hash is visible in the app from publication. After settlement the answer and the secret value are revealed so that anyone can verify the commitment.

4.5 Players who open a Drop after some Drop Points have locked can watch what happened but cannot stake on those points. They may stake on any Drop Point that is still open.

5. Winning and prizes

5.1 When a Drop Point locks, all Drop Coins staked on it form a pool. Sponsor retains 10% of the pool. The remainder is divided among players who staked on the correct answer, in proportion to their stakes, and paid in Spin Coins. If no player staked on the correct answer, every stake on that Drop Point is returned as Drop Coins. If a Drop Point is voided under Section 8, every stake on it is returned.

5.2 Spin Coins may be redeemed for digital gift cards at a rate of 1,000 Spin Coins to $1.00 USD, in increments of no less than 5,000 Spin Coins ($5.00) and no more than $100.00 per request. Spin Coins have no other use, cannot be purchased, and cannot be transferred or sold.

5.3 Because prizes are pool-based, the value of any individual prize depends on how many players stake and how they stake. Sponsor may set a maximum payout per Drop Point and a total prize cap per calendar month, announced in the app; if a cap would be exceeded, payouts are prorated and the difference returned as Drop Coins.

5.4 Gift cards are delivered by email to the address you provide, normally within 10 business days of a request. Winners who redeem more than $600 in a calendar year must provide a completed IRS Form W-9 before further redemptions. Sponsor will issue IRS Form 1099 as required by law. Prizes are taxable; taxes are the winner's responsibility.

5.5 Gift cards are subject to the issuing merchant's terms. Prizes are not transferable and cannot be substituted, except that Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the stated prize is unavailable.

6. Odds

Odds of winning on any Drop Point depend on the number of answers offered and on the choices of other players. Every eligible player receives the same Daily Stake and the same opportunity on every Drop. Skill in reading the clip improves your chances; nothing you can buy does.

7. Drop Plus subscription

Sponsor may offer an optional paid subscription, "Drop Plus," that unlocks additional non-prize video content and app features. Drop Plus does not increase the Daily Stake, change odds, add Drop Points, alter payouts, or affect eligibility or redemption in any way. Subscribers and non-subscribers play the daily prize Drop under identical terms.

8. Conduct

One account per person and one account per device. Automated play, multiple accounts, coordinating with others to manipulate a pool, sharing answers before a Drop Point is revealed, or exploiting a defect voids all associated Spin Coins and may result in a permanent ban. Sponsor may void any Drop Point and return stakes if the video, question, or answer is found to be defective, ambiguous, or compromised. Sponsor's determination of the correct answer is final.

9. General

By participating you agree to these Official Rules and to Sponsor's decisions, which are final and binding. Sponsor is not responsible for technical failures, interrupted video, lost or delayed entries, or unauthorized access to accounts. Sponsor may cancel or modify a Drop if fraud, technical failure, or any other cause beyond its control impairs its integrity. Where permitted by law, winners consent to the display of their username on in-app leaderboards without further compensation. These rules are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and any dispute will be resolved as set out in the Terms of Service.

10. Winners list and rules

A copy of these rules is always available at thedrop.today/rules. A list of the top winners for each month, by username, is shown on the in-app leaderboard and is available on request by emailing hello@thedrop.today within 60 days of the end of that month.
